Date Prune or Apricot Filling

U.S. Metric Ingredients

2 lb 1 kg Dates, prunes (pitted), or dried apricots 6 oz 200 g Sugar

1 pt 500 mL Water

Per 1 ounce:

Calories, 65; Protein, 0 g; Fat, 0 g (0% cal.); Cholesterol, 0 mg; Carbohydrates, 17 g; Fiber, 1 g; Sodium, 0 mg.

1. Chop dried fruit very fine or pass through a grinder.

2. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Simmer and stir until thick and smooth, about 10 minutes.

3. Cool before using.
