1/2 c. margarine or butter (l stick)
3 lg. celery stalks, diced
1 lg. onion, chopped
3 med. apples(about 1 pound), peeled, core; d, and diced
1 1/2 loaves sliced firm white bread, cut into 3; /4'cubes and lightly toas
1 can (13 1/4 to 14 chicken broth
1/2 c. pecans, toasted and chopped
1/2 c. walnuts, toasted and chopped
2 T. sesame seeds, toasted 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning 1/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
|n 12' skillet, melt margarine or butter over medium heat. Add celery and onion and cook 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Add apples r id cook 5 minutes longer.
|n large bowl, combine celery mixture with toasted bread cubes and remaining ingredients; toss to mix well. Spoon stuffing into greased 13' by 9' glass baking dish; cover with foil and bake in preheated 325 degrees F. oven 45 minutes or until heated through.
Yield: about 12 cups
